Event #22 starring
Woody Allen
He is a small framed man, wears a pair of thick framed eye glasses, rattles out a lengthy list of self-deprecating Jewish humor without showing any signs of slowing down, and appears to be successful with getting a foot in the door with a lot of beautiful women. When the name of Woody Allen crosses my mind, I immediately conjure up cinematic images from Annie Hall, Mighty Aphrodite and Manhattan as a representation of his on screen persona. Allen is more than just a neurotic persona, of course, as demonstrated by the repertoire of movies that he has written, directed, and starred in. Humorous storytelling would be his strong point and a love for his home state of New York demonstrates his vulnerability. Several writing members of The Large Association of Movie Blogs have sent in their articles about Allen’s career as a film director. It can be a challenge to write about his career as a director when he is heavily involved as a writer and actor in addition to his role as the movie director. All of the submissions have been linked below for your reading enjoyment. In addition to the written articles there are a couple of LAMB members who had partnered up to produce a podcast episode with an emphasis on Allen’s career. To listen to the episode just follow this link to the description page.
