Good news, everyone! We’re back with another edition of “Classic Chops”…
Helen at Commentary Track suggested that since last week’s Halloween Chops went so well I tackle another holiday-themed edition for Thanksgiving…an idea that I think is worthy of an extra slice of pumpkin pie. So to give you plenty of advance notice for this blogosphere-shaking event, Classic Chops invites you to submit essays on movies that focus on Turkey Day…and I’m even going to open it up to any film that generally features families and/or strangers sitting down and tucking into a really swell meal. (So anybody out there who’s written an essay on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre in the past—don’t let this opportunity pass you by.) All Thanksgiving Chops entries must be e-mailed to me (at classicchops@gmail.com) by November 22, 6:00pm EST …and will be featured on the Chops the following day (November 23). So don’t be bashful—let’s hear from you!

In the meantime, Classic Chops enthusiastically welcomes any essay or post you’ve composed on a film classic—and even though I originally set the criterion at films released in 1965 and before, I have “cheated” a little and included films after that date that I don’t think too many people would dispute are “classics.” Simply send your submissions to classicchops@gmail.com by November 8th at 6:00pm EST …and any questions, comments, suggestions and used Post-It notes should be addressed to that same e-mail address as well.
As always…until next time…see you at the movies!
