Shot under a veil of secrecy due to the sensitive nature of its subject, "The Lady," an inspiring drama based on the life of the Burmese pro-democracy activist Aung San Suu Kyi, has finally finished filming and is ready to premiere at the Toronto Film Festival next month, also expected to be screened at a number of international film festivals in the fall before widely release in theaters everywhere. Inspired by one of the greatest love stories set against a background of political turmoil that still continues to this day, “The Lady” is the extraordinary story of how Aung San Suu Kyi and her husband Michael Aris gave up their happiness at great cost when the wife's country called upon her. Yet despite

These Horrors are Hungrier Than the Hungriest Ghosts

Scary movies may come in many different forms, but our most favorite here is the supernatural one, a creepy atmospheric ghost story pepper with a little pleasant touch of gothic ambiance. Therefore, here are some that likely meet the criteria in our list of upcoming horror flicks that you (probably) never heard of before, another horrific addition to the “August Bloody Wicked Month of Horror”:

Adventure Has A New Name: Adèle Blanc-Sec
It’s been awhile since French based director, Luc Besson, has directed a film. Already written at least 40 movies and produced over 80 but only directed just over 10, many of his films have achieved popular, if not critical success. Critics cite Besson as being a pivotal figure in the Cinéma du look movement, a specific style of film being made in the decade of the '80s into the early 1990s. “Subway”, “The Big Blue” and “La Femme Nikita” are all considered to be of this stylistic school. The filmmaker also had been

Contemporary Films That Were Born For Halloween
Every decade produces terrible horror movies and great horror movies and I think most universally recognized horror classics are from years ago. Such titles as “Halloween”, “Friday the 13th”, “Nightmare on Elm St”, “Carrie”, “The Exorcist”, and “Evil Dead”, are all antiques by today’s standards, but they were revolutionary at the time and heavily influenced modern horror. When it comes to the genre, the 2000s also have

Rec 2 Bring The Quarantine Stuffs All Back
The genuinely creepy Spanish horror film “Rec” surely is one of the biggest independent horror success stories of 2007. In the US, the film was quickly snapped up by Sony Picture’s Screen Gems division and put on the studio shelf before being remade in English the following year under the title of “Quarantine.” However, not thrilled with the remake, the two “Rec” directors, Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza, decided to go back and

F For Franklyn’s Vendetta
Franklyn is a visually striking British film from the new director, Gerald McMorrow, an ambitious work that goes somewhere between “Blade Runner” and “V for Vendetta.” While it may be McMorrow's debut feature, but his 2002 sci-fi short “Thespian X,” was about an actor in the distant future queuing up to sign on for benefits, proves that this is a man who can handle high concept. This film will be somewhat a breath of fresh air for British cinema as probably one of the most impressive and daring features with spans many genres, combining imaginative storytelling with a strong visual artistic.

Let The Right One Horror Gem In
Before “Twilight” supplies us with another human-vampire love story, I think we need to pay some attentions to this worthy piece of Swedish film which has been gathered almost entirely positive reception by the reviewers around the world. Not only that, “Let the Right One In” or in Swedish called “Låt den rätte komma in” that was based on the novel of the same name by John Ajvide Lindqvist, has also won numerous awards including the "Founders Award for Best Narrative Feature" at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival and the European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation's 2008 Méliès d'Or (Golden Méliès) for the "Best European Fantastic Feature Film." Other awards

Fear(s) Of Halloween Horror Episode 1

Like what I’ve said previously, October is the right time to talk more about horror movies and you know why. This time I’m gonna roundup and introduce some horrors that probably compatible with our watching mood this Halloween. These titles as listed below actually were foreign films which I’ve found some attraction on them; they are “Cold Prey 2” from Norway, Thailand’s “Coming Soon” and “Fear(s) of the Dark” of France. Maybe for the next episode of this post, I’ll be

A Darker Wizardry Tone In Krabat World
Harry Potter, gets ready to meet your fresh and valuable competitor, a 14-year-old sorcerer orphan boy name Krabat.
The recent news about the delayed release of "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince” might have been disappointed us a lot, but somehow from another side of the world, specifically on Germany, there will release a kind of film which revolves around sorcery, magic and mystery, also with a teenage boy as the main character. While it seems undeserved to
