Franklyn is a visually striking British film from the new director, Gerald McMorrow, an ambitious work that goes somewhere between “Blade Runner” and “V for Vendetta.” While it may be McMorrow's debut feature, but his 2002 sci-fi short “Thespian X,” was about an actor in the distant future queuing up to sign on for benefits, proves that this is a man who can handle high concept. This film will be somewhat a breath of fresh air for British cinema as probably one of the most impressive and daring features with spans many genres, combining imaginative storytelling with a strong visual artistic.
