Alongside sequel movies, we known that remakes are also everywhere these days and it looks like we’ll be seeing many more over the coming years. Though, in facts, these remake flicks have with us for a long long time. Since Judy Garland’s “A Star is Born,” as were “Mogambo,” “Ben-Hur” and “The Magnificent Seven.” But they were all solid films in their own right; brought something new to the stories they were retelling, didn’t sullied the reputation of the originals, and were rarely enough to find in that sea of recycle products. Now, how about “The Taking of Pelham 123,” a remake of a 1974 Walter Matthau/Robert Shaw thriller where a subway train is hijacked and the occupants are held for ransom? Could it do some justices too for the original film? This time, Denzel Washington and John Travolta will face off in the remake being helmed by Tony Scott. A good thing,
