From “The Thing” to “Fargo” to “30 Days of Night,” remote setting and environment in cold weather conditions have made idyllic settings for some pretty creepy movies over the years. The upcoming release film that also will exploit the white and freezing Antarctica landscape is “Whiteout,” a big screen version of 4-issue comic-book miniseries written by Greg Rucka (Queen & Country, 52, Checkmate) with art by Steve Lieber, published by Oni Press in 1998.
