George Lucas is well-known as one of the great CGI technological vanguards and trendsetters of Hollywood's current history, driving forward such techniques as motion control and CGI with the single-mindedness of a prophet. So there's a clear logic in the transition of the “Star Wars” saga from increasingly CGI-heavy, nominally live-action feature films into pure CGI animation in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.” This fully animated version will takes place between “Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones” and “Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.” The Clone Wars are raging between the Separatists and the Galactic Republic.
